Housed in an IP54‑rated casing with a protective overmold, it presents readings on a large backlit 4,200‑count LCD augmented by a log‑type bargraph for intuitive analog‑style feedback. With auto‑ranging across four insulation ranges (4 MΩ–4 GΩ) and selectable test voltages of 125 V, 250 V, and 500 V DC, the MG500 automatically discharges capacitive circuits upon completion, ensuring user safety. Voltage, resistance, and insulation functions are seamlessly integrated: AC/DC volts to 600 V with auto‑detect, resistance continuity with buzzer and alarm indicator below 40 Ω, and a dedicated 40 Ω range offering short‑circuit currents ≥200 mA.
